Full replacement Yorkshire Sliders in Brindle, Chorley
A number of year ago the owner of this stunning cottage in Brindle, Chorley installed uPVC double glazing throughout. The new occupier wanted to fully restore the cottage to it’s traditional glory so we were employed to make and install bespoke Yorkshire sliders for each window. In order to achieve this the uPVC windows were removed, the stone window recess was dismantled and new stone cills were installed. Once the new windows were installed, the stone work could be rebuilt. We also;
- Measured, built and installed 9 bespoke double glazed, timber Yorkshire sliders.
- Delicately dismantled stone window recesses to take new solid stone cills
- Draught proofing was applied to every window. We replaced all parting beads with new timber alternatives which incorporated an engineered draught strip. Not a piece of plastic in sight!
- All new windows were fitted with new lock catches. We have these available in a number of finishes, including chrome, brass, brushed steel and antique brass.
It has been common place over the last 20 years for home owners to remove traditional timber windows for a host of reasons; they are draughty, difficult to maintenance etc. but it is critical that we retain the heritage of our buildings in the UK.
